The Everyday Hero
We are constantly surrounded by everyday heroes. Don't be fooled that they don't have superpowers, because they truly do! Yes, it's true that they may not have invisibility, the speed of light, or super strength. They may not even have artificial intelligence to help stop the super villains from taking over the world, but the everyday hero's super power is one of uniqueness.
So, you may be asking yourself - who are these everyday heroes? These everyday heroes can be found everywhere you look. From the teachers nurturing young minds - encouraging individual thinking, to the hardworking doctors and nurses who treat patient after patient on an individual basis, to the police personnel who look out, protect and watch over our society, and our beloved mums, dads, grandparents and guardians who work tirelessly to support themselves and their loved ones.; perhaps even in a job they don't like!
The everyday heroes are also members of our society which we may have been forgetting. The poor, the homeless, the disabled, the elderly, the sick, the dying, people with mental health issues and many other forgotten groups of society. The everyday hero's unique superpowers are determination, strength, courage, compassion, kindness, hope, peace and joy.
The reason why it is important to acknowledge the everyday hero in each and every one of us is because we all have struggles, challenges and experience hardships. Life can be difficult; life can be really shit. But, it doesn't need to be.
Without acknowledging our individual ego, we can truly see how unique each one of us truly is. We don't need superpowers to help one another - we just need to realise how precious life is and to be there for each other. We are all in this together. We all have a purpose in life.
Until you walk in another person's footsteps- be kind to each other. There is more than meets the eye with everyone on this planet.
Embrace and acknowledge the everyday hero within you, because that is who you are.
